When like souls meet, they recognize each other instantly. The universe delivered Lee to my doorstep in an Uber. He Air BnBd my house last year, and we've stayed in touch since.
While chatting away online one night, I mentioned that I had been reading about crystal mines in Arkansas. It seems Arkansas and Brazil have the best quality quartz in the world. Did you know that during World War II, the government was in the mining business? Quartz was used for radio oscillators in the war effort. High grade optical calcite was also used to create gun sights.

In 2017, the story became even more interesting. According to writer, Paul Seaburn, owners of a local mine witnessed "mysterious orbs, unidentified lights, stones falling from the sky, and rocks levitating."
Healing crystals, mysterious orbs. Lee and I were captivated by the possibilities.
I'm leaving Maggie's House of Free Love and Home Cooking to the yogis and the dogs once again. First stop: Atlanta, to pick up Lee. We will start venturing westward with a final destination of the Ouachita Mountains to try our hand at crystal mining.

There will be hiking and swimming and meandering down unmarked roads. And possibly some levitating crystals and alien encounters.
