Miles do not separate true friends, especially when we are on social media. We may not be in each other's presence as often, but we talk every day. Joelle and I were fb messaging one night, musing about our next trip, when I casually typed, "My dream is to drive up the California coast in a VW bus."
Within 2 minutes, Joelle had sent links to places that actually rent VDubs. My dream started to become reality. So on Sunday morning, we are picking up my dream machine at Vintage Safari Wagons in Costa Mesa, California.
Their logo is fun (note the inverted surf board), the website well-designed, and, of course, the business concept blows me away. I already like doing business with them. (Actually, Joelle has done every bit of the work. I dream: she makes it reality.) VSW even sent a confirming email, with an 8 minute video imbedded. The video shows where to find everything on the van, and how to operate all the features. It has flowered curtains!
So, stay tuned and find out which bus they give us. Will it be the lime green one?
